Speaker: Mehmed Kreso

John Ellegood's presentation is on Computed Tomography (CT). CT is an x-ray imaging method employing tomography. Digital geometry processing is used to generate a three-dimensional image of the inside of an object from a large series of two-dimensional X-ray images taken around a single axis of rotation.

CT produces a volume of data which can be manipulated, through a process known as "windowing", in order to demonstrate various internal structures based on their ability to block the X-ray beam. Although historically the images generated were in the axial or transverse plane, orthogonal to the long axis of the object, modern scanners allow this volume of data to be reformatted in various planes or even as volumetric (3D) representations of structures.

About the Speaker:

Mr. Kreso graduated with a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Mostar, Bosnia and
Herzegovina, and worked at the Aircraft Industry “Soko” Mostar as a Mechanical Engineer for
approximately 12 years, in different positions, as Quality Engineer, Design Engineer, Manager in
Engineering, and as one of Management Directors. He currently works for Goodrich Interiors, Specialty Seating Systems, in Colorado Springs, Colorado, as a designated responsible ASNT NDT Level 3 in Magnetic Particle and Penetrant Testing Methods. He has been an ASNT member for the last 8 years.
